While most inventions have been founded by just one or two people, ultimate Frisbee is different. Rumors have it that Frisbee has been founded by several people at different times, which explains the different kinds and forms of Frisbee that we have today.
But if you pay close attention to the history of Frisbee, you will find that the inspiration for the Frisbee gear that we have today actually came from the Frisbie Baking Company’s pie tins. Some people say that college students in New England were playing with empty pie tins by tossing and catching it.

The most well-known games that the more youthful audience tends to play a whole lot these days is Ultimate Frisbee Mini Games. Anybody can virtually obtain Ultimate Discs and throw them in the air, but if you look directly into actual frisbee players games you’ll recognize that you will find something unique with the way they throw and capture the discs – watch this unique precision and finesse. Frisbee is classified into non-contact sports, meaning that players would not and really should not establish any body contact with each other. Consequently, players have to possess the appropriate throwing and catching capabilities important for playing the game.

Ultimate Frisbees is a competitive, high-intensity game of team frisbee. The games are played in a number of different team sizes and on several different field lengths. Typical teams will be either 5-man up to 10-man, and fields are usually a minimum of 100 yards long. There are few “official” rules, even in league play, making the game very adaptable to “pickup” games.
Because Ultimate Frisbee makes a great recreational game to be played in a park or public venue, the rules and play styles can vary widely. Still, there are several strategies you can employ to improve your game regardless of the setting.
Zone Defense
This is a very effective defensive strategy, but requires the participation and understanding of the entire team. Zone coverage works just like zone coverage in football. That is, each player is responsible to cover a specific “zone” of the field. Any offensive players that enter your zone, you are responsible for blocking passes to them. If they run out of your zone, you drop off coverage and allow your team mates to cover them, picking up other players yourself.
